POSITION DESCRIPTION

The hotelAVE internship program provides students with a strong understanding of consulting, acquisition, and asset management roles by completing projects with senior leaders to enhance company processes or new strategies. Additionally, interns will experience a “day in the life” of an asset manager, which includes touring hotels and participating in the daily, weekly, and monthly protocols for a specific property.  Each intern will participate in our monthly best practice calls and present the work they completed at the Company-Wide Retreat.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
 
As part of your internship, you will work closely with the executive team. Additionally, you will be able to participate in and work with the advisory team on their current assignments.  You will also get to participate in all company-wide best practice calls, review the coming year's outlook projections, and attend the company retreat.
 
The intern will report to a Director or Senior Director of Advisory, Acquisitions or Asset Management. The intern will be responsible for assisting in the updating and completion of a project or projects developed for them as well as be responsible for assisting the asset management team on one or more of its properties.  The following are examples of past projects:

  • Identifying new Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management tools for implementation
  • Research for upcoming year’s Operational and Capital Markets Outlook report
The “day in the life” component of the internship assigns the intern to an asset management team to learn about the day-to-day asset management of one of our properties including touring the hotel and market, participating in the daily, weekly and monthly protocols, reviewing progress towards the annual asset management plan objectives and attending revenue calls and a monthly meeting. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Real Estate minor a plus
  • Positive, innovative approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint a must
  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interface with leadership, managers and regional professionals at all levels
EDUCATION
Pursuing degree in hospitality operations and/or management. 

LOCATION AND DURATION
This position is located in downtown Providence, RI and is a 10-week program. Specific dates to be determined.
